BOBOVR Guide
How to Play Your Meta Quest 3 & 3S Longer Without Stopping to Charge
A buyer-friendly explanation of Quest 3 and 3S battery straps, hot-swap packs, and BOBOVR battery platforms for longer sessions.
Why the built-in battery runs out
Standalone VR is power-hungry, so the headset's internal battery drains in about two hours of typical play, sooner with graphically heavy titles.
The fix - a battery head strap
A battery strap adds a rechargeable pack at the back that powers the headset alongside its internal battery, extending your session. The rear weight also improves balance, so you get comfort and playtime together.
Hot-swap means you keep playing
Hot-swap batteries let you change a drained pack for a charged one without taking the headset off — so a spare pack means near-continuous play. It isn't unlimited power (you still recharge the packs), but there's no wait.
Know your battery platform - they are not interchangeable
BOBOVR uses three battery platforms, and a battery from one will not fit another strap or dock:
- B2 · 5,200mAh (M3 Pro) - adds about 1.5-2 hours.
- BM60 · 6,500mAh (M3 Pro+) - hot-swap; roughly a full Quest 3S charge, or about 86-92% of a Quest 3.
- B100 · 10,000mAh (S3 Pro / E3 Pro) - the largest capacity; hot-swap on the S3 Pro.
Buy the battery that matches the strap you own.
