How the stock charging works
Your Ray-Ban Meta or Oakley Meta glasses recharge inside their included case, and you recharge the case over USB-C. That is enough for daily use - but the case has to be charged itself, and it is not always the most convenient option at a desk or on a trip.
Can you charge Meta glasses without the case?
Yes. The included case is the default charger, but it is not the only one. A charger that touches the glasses' own contacts - like a snap-on clip or a charging dock - powers them directly, so a lost, drained, or left-at-home case does not mean dead glasses. The CG2's 19g clip attaches to the nose bridge of the folded glasses and adds roughly a full charge on its own.
When you would want a dedicated charger
- At your desk: a magnetic dock that starts charging the moment you set the glasses down.
- On the go: a small snap-on battery for a top-up when you are away from a plug.
- Travelling: a protective case that also charges, with a USB-C port you can reach without unpacking.
